Making the switch to USB flash drives

Many photographers are doing it, and now it’s time for me to make the switch to USB flash drives…

Disc’s of images are becoming a thing of the past. They were never the perfect storage solution. Data was easily corrupted by heat & scratches. And from my point of view as a photographer it was time consuming to create them. Occasionally I have even have a disc burnt that hasn’t been readable. Not good. As technology moves forward several brands of computer are being built without CD drives, leaving me with a product that is frankly, useless.

I have realised for a while it is time to find an alternative and so I have chosen a custom banded USB flash drive.

I always want to give my clients a beautiful quality product. Whilst file transfer through the internet is wonderful, download speeds vary greatly and there’s honestly nothing pretty about an email with a link code in it. Hopefully these USB flash drives tick the box.

The packaging is still a work in progress, but I still really love my silky grey ribbons. Watch this space for my ideas and final decision on packaging.

These lovely little USB’s flash drives hold an average session of about 20-30 low resolution images and are complimentary will all of my sessions.

I’m really hoping that my clients like them, I’m personally really happy with them. If I wasn’t, there’s no way I would consider using them.

  • Jennifer Chin - These are so cute!!! May I ask where you order your personalized flash drives??

    Jen :)

  • Emily Beale Photography - Thanks so much for asking Jen. I did a google search and then took a couple of quotes. I’d recommend the same. Go for a good quality one though because it makes all the difference for downloading and uploading :)
