Happy Mother’s Day to all my UK mummy friends. I’m having a lovely day with my family, I hope you are too.
Today I’m thinking about the incredible mothers in my life.
This picture sits just outside my bedroom, I pass it often every day, and each time I do I feel a rush of gratitude for the people pictures in it.
The first picture is my mummy pictured with her mother on the beach.
The second is my mother when she was about 10 years old.
The third my father, also about ten.
The forth my father and his mother relaxing in the garden.
(The last picture in the series was a recent find , and boy did my heart skip to see it!)
I am just so grateful for these incredible women. Life was not easy for any of them, but they showed constantly how much family meant to them through their loving words and actions.
An incredible legacy to follow.
Thinking of them all today. my own mother today – Shirley Ann Mays. My maternal grand mother – Nancy Pierson. And my paternal grand mother – Elizabeth Mays.
Looking forward to being all together again someday.
